What the heck?

The icon for this app on my iPhone is faded out as if its updating. When I click on the icon it says "waiting" and Im unable to delete the app! I contacted the makers and they said its an Apple issue. Emailed Apple and havent received a response. Dont want to wipe my phone clean to get rid of one stupid app!
